Glossary — Picasi Terms from A to Z

A

Admin User role with access to sources, channels, tags, team, and AI settings. No billing access. See also: Roles and Permissions.

Agency A bracket around several Workspaces owned by the same person. Anyone with at least two of their own Workspaces can create an agency and run brand, dossier sign-off and billing centrally from there. See also: Agency and brand presence (follows).

AI Context Documents and website URLs that provide Picasi with information about your company, your products, and your communications. Improves the relevance and specificity of reports and analyses.

AI Report Synonym for report. The abbreviation emphasizes that the content was generated by AI (not manually).

AI Tagging The automatic assignment of topic tags by the AI system as soon as updates are received. Based on the AI descriptions of the configured tags.

API Token A personal access key for connecting to the MCP via Claude Code, Cursor, or your own agents. It is displayed only once and must be stored securely.

Atom Feed An XML-based syndication format, functionally similar to RSS. Picasi supports Atom feeds as a channel type.

Block One section of a dossier template — key figures, a chart, a cross table or the data basis, for instance. Which blocks a dossier has is set by its template. See also: Blocks of a dossier.

Brand settings The page on which you set colors and logos for graphics and PDF files. Part of the Pro and Premium plans. See also: Setting colors and logo (follows).

C

Channel The direct connection to a source’s public feed—for example, the LinkedIn account of Muster AG. Channels have a type (LinkedIn, YouTube, RSS, email) and can be enabled or disabled.

Channel Type The platform or format of a channel. Supported types: LinkedIn Company, LinkedIn Person, YouTube, RSS/Atom, Email.

Conversation Starter A report type: AI-selected updates suitable for engagement through comments on LinkedIn.

D

Dashboard The home page after logging in. Displays update statistics, active sources and channels, monthly limits, and team invitations.

Deleted The Inbox folder for discarded updates. Discarded updates are automatically deleted after 28 days.

Dossier A finished document to hand on. It has pages, a sender and a sign-off, is printed as a PDF and goes to someone outside Picasi — to management or to clients. Not to be confused with the Report, which you read inside the tool. See also: Dossiers.

E

Evidence The find with which the AI backs a source suggestion. Two pieces of evidence from independent websites turn a suggestion green.

I

Inbox The folder for new, unrated updates. One of three Inbox folders (along with Saved and Discarded). The central, sorted compilation of all Inbox folders is called the Unified Inbox.

L

LinkedIn Posts A report type: three ready-made LinkedIn post drafts based on Inbox updates.

M

Masking How a dossier above the monthly allowance is treated: quotes and table figures stay unreadable, charts blurred. Title and key figures stay visible, the PDF is locked. Raise the allowance and the dossier is readable again at once. See also: Dossier allowance and masking.

MCP Model Context Protocol — an open protocol for connecting tools to AI assistants. Picasi implements an MCP server through which Claude Code, Claude.ai, ChatGPT, and other assistants can access Workspace data.

MCP Server The Picasi interface through which AI assistants retrieve data and perform actions. Accessible via the Workspace’s MCP URL.

Member A user role with read and write access to the Inbox. Can rate updates and generate AI reports, but cannot edit sources or team settings.

O

OAuth An authorization protocol that allows AI assistants such as Claude.ai and ChatGPT to access a Picasi Workspace—without a manual API token.

Overflow Updates that exceed the monthly update limit. They are recorded in the system but do not appear in the Inbox.

Owner The user role with the highest level of access. Can manage billing, delete the Workspace, and perform all other actions. Each Workspace has exactly one owner.

R

Reader A user role with read-only access. Can read updates and view reports, but cannot generate or edit anything.

Report An analysis inside the tool. You read it on screen or receive it by email; it has filters, a public link and a schedule. Its recipient is the Workspace itself — unlike the Dossier, which leaves the house.

RSS Feed An XML-based format for news feeds. Picasi subscribes to RSS feeds from websites and displays new content as updates in the Inbox.

S

Scheduled Report A report that runs automatically according to a schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly). Can be delivered via email and published as a public feed.

Scope The scope of access for an OAuth connection. read allows read-only access; write additionally allows you to create and edit sources and channels.

Source A company or website that you monitor in Picasi. A source has a URL and can have multiple channels.

Source suggestion A source that Picasi proposes for you to monitor. You adopt it, hide it or reject it permanently. See also: Where the source suggestions come from.

Source tag A label on a source — Direct competitor or Trade media, for instance. It says who is sending, not what it is about.

T

Tag A category label attached to sources, channels, or updates. Enables filtering in the Inbox and improves AI auto-tagging. There are three kinds: source tag, channel tag and topic tag.

Template The blueprint of a dossier: which blocks it has, which period it evaluates and which filters it demands. Picasi releases templates per Workspace; you do not create them yourselves. See also: Dossier templates.

Topic tag A label on an update — Products or People, for instance. It says what it is about, not who is sending. The AI assigns topic tags automatically from their description.

Traffic light The rating of a source suggestion. Green means: backed by two independent pieces of evidence. Yellow means: one piece of evidence, or an uncertain second opinion — the suggestion wants looking at.

U

Update A single piece of content retrieved from a channel—e.g., a LinkedIn post, a YouTube video, or a newsletter article.

W

White-label Your own brand presence in graphics and PDF files. It belongs to the Pro and Premium plans and is not bought separately. If a Workspace has colors or a logo of its own, they take precedence; otherwise the agency brand applies.

Workspace Your team’s shared Workspace in Picasi. Contains all sources, channels, updates, reports, and team members.

Workspace profile The short description of your Workspace — industry, region, language, company description. Picasi derives it automatically after onboarding and uses it as the starting point for the source suggestions. See also: Edit the Workspace profile for source suggestions.
