Glossary - Picasi terms from A-Z

A

Admin User role with access to sources, channels, tags, team, and AI settings. No billing access. See also: Roles and Permissions.

API Token A personal access key for the MCP connection via Claude Code, Cursor, or your own agents. It is displayed only once and must be stored securely.

Atom Feed An XML-based syndication format, functionally similar to RSS. Picasi supports Atom feeds as a channel type.

Report AI-generated text based on Inbox updates. There are five types: Summary, Analysis, List, LinkedIn Posts, Conversation Starters.

D

Dashboard The home page after logging in. Displays update statistics, active sources and channels, monthly limits, and team invitations.

E

Owner The user role with the highest level of access. Can manage billing, delete the workspace, and perform all other actions. Each workspace has exactly one owner.

G

Conversation Starter A report type: AI-selected updates suitable for comment-based engagement on LinkedIn.

Scheduled Report A report that runs automatically on a schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly). Can be delivered via email and published as a public feed.

Inbox See Inbox.

K

Channel The direct link to a source’s public feed—e.g., the LinkedIn account of Muster AG. Channels have a type (LinkedIn, YouTube, RSS, email) and can be enabled or disabled.

AI Report Synonym for report. The abbreviation emphasizes that the content was generated by AI (not manually).

AI Context Documents and website URLs that inform Picasa about your company, your products, and your communications. Improves the relevance and specificity of reports and analyses.

AI Tagging The automatic assignment of update tags by the AI system as soon as updates are received. Based on the AI descriptions of the configured tags.

Channel Type The platform or format of a channel. Supported types: LinkedIn Company, LinkedIn Person, YouTube, RSS/Atom, Email.

L

Reader User role with read-only access. Can read updates and view reports, but cannot generate or edit anything.

LinkedIn Posts A report type: three pre-written LinkedIn post drafts based on Inbox updates.

M

MCP Model Context Protocol — an open protocol for connecting tools to AI assistants. Picasi implements an MCP server through which Claude Code, Claude.ai, ChatGPT, and other assistants can access Workspace data.

MCP Server The Picasi interface through which AI assistants retrieve data and perform actions. Accessible via the Workspace’s MCP URL.

Member User role with read and write access to the Inbox. Can rate updates and generate AI reports, but cannot edit sources or team settings.

O

OAuth An authorization protocol that allows AI assistants like Claude.ai and ChatGPT to access a Picasi Workspace—without a manual API token.

Overflow Updates that exceed the monthly update limit. They are recorded in the system but do not appear in the Inbox.

P

Inbox The folder for new, unrated updates. One of three Inbox folders (along with Saved and Discarded).

Q

Source A company or website you follow in Picasi. A source has a URL and can have multiple channels.

R

RSS Feed An XML-based format for news feeds. Picasi subscribes to RSS feeds from websites and displays new content as updates in the Inbox.

S

Scope The scope of access for an OAuth connection. read allows read-only access; write additionally allows the creation and editing of sources and channels.

T

Tag A category label attached to sources, channels, or updates. Enables filtering in the inbox and improves AI auto-tagging.

U

Update A single piece of content retrieved from a channel—e.g., a LinkedIn post, a YouTube video, or a newsletter article.

V

Trash The inbox folder for discarded updates. Discarded updates are automatically deleted after 28 days.

W

Workspace Your team’s shared workspace in Picasi. Contains all sources, channels, updates, reports, and team members.
