How do I configure the AI context correctly?

Short Answer

Start with a single document: your positioning or messaging document. That’s enough to get started. You can add everything else step by step.

Details

The AI context influences how Picasi analyzes your updates. Without context, the AI operates in a generic way—with good context, you’ll get analyses tailored to your business.

What to upload first:

Start with one of the following documents—depending on what you already have:

  • A positioning or messaging document (describing what you stand for)
  • An overview of your own products and core features
  • A style guide or tone of voice guide

More isn’t always better. A focused document with clear statements is more useful than ten documents with contradictory or generic content.

Order for the structure:

  1. Company and positioning context
  2. Product overview (your own strengths)
  3. Competitive overview (who are the main competitors, what sets you apart)
  4. Style guide (only important if you publish AI-generated posts via Buffer)

What doesn’t belong here:

No internal protocols, no raw data tables, no texts intended primarily for internal processes. The AI won’t extract any useful information from them.

How to check if the context works:

After uploading, generate an AI report and see if the analysis refers to your specific situation. If the analysis still seems too general, the context document is likely worded too generically.
