Use AI search in the Inbox

What this is about

Classic text search only finds hits that contain the entered words verbatim. AI search (semantic search) additionally finds updates that talk about the same topic — even with different wording.

Example: a search for “price increase” with AI search also finds posts about “new pricing”, “tariff adjustment”, or “cost model updated”, without those posts containing the words “price increase”.

How to do it

  1. Open the Inbox and expand filters

Open Inbox and click the filter icon in the top right to open the filter popover.

  2. Enter a query

Type a term, phrase, or question into the AI search field. Short formulations produce sharper results than full sentences.

    Examples:

    • price increase
    • conference announcement
    • management changes
  3. Run the search

Press Enter or click Apply. The Inbox switches to semantic mode — visible via the search-mode banner at the top.

  4. Browse the results

Updates are sorted by recency (newest first) — not by similarity score. Reason: for a live topic thread, the most recent matching update is usually the most relevant.

  5. Leave the search

Click Reset in the banner or empty the AI search field to return to the normal Inbox view.

Result

You see a filtered update list that covers your topic broadly — including posts that use different wording.

Search typeGood for
Text searchAn exact term, a company name, a product name
AI searchA topic cluster, a question, a concept — anywhere word variants are likely

Both searches combine with the other filters (source, channel type, tags, time range). AI search runs first — the other filters then narrow the semantically found set.
