How often are updates retrieved?
Short Answer
Picasi checks for new updates several times a day. You can control the exact frequency for each source using the “Check Frequency” setting—options range from hourly to daily.
Details
When you create or edit a source, select how often Picasi should check for new content under Retrieval Frequency. The following options are available:
- Hourly — for sources where you need to react quickly (for example, a very active competitor on LinkedIn)
- Several times a day — the default setting for most sources
- Daily — for sources where changes are rare (for example, a rarely used RSS feed)
Why don’t new updates appear immediately?
Even with hourly fetching, it’s possible that a new update isn’t yet visible in Picasi. This happens if the fetch occurred just before the new post was published—the update will then appear during the next run.
For LinkedIn sources, the following also applies: Picasi reads public LinkedIn pages. If a post is visible only to followers or only to members, it cannot be fetched.
When does an update land in the inbox?
As soon as the refresh is complete and Picasi detects a new update, it lands in your New folder. From there, you can prioritize it or discard it immediately.
