My source has no channels — why?
Short answer
Picasi could not automatically detect any public social-media presences or feeds on the website you entered. The source is still created — just without channels. You can add channels manually afterwards (LinkedIn URL, YouTube channel, RSS feed).
Details
When you add a new source using a company website, Picasi scans the page for:
- LinkedIn company page links (
linkedin.com/company/...) - LinkedIn personal profile links (
linkedin.com/in/...) - YouTube channel links (
youtube.com/@...oryoutube.com/channel/...) - RSS and Atom feeds (link tags in the
<head>or standard paths like/feed) - Newsletter sign-up endpoints
If the scan finds none of these, the source is created with only an email channel (the default fallback for every source). The collection process then works only if newsletters are forwarded to the Picasi ingest address.
Common reasons
- JavaScript-heavy website: The scanner only sees the raw HTML, not the client-rendered output. If social links are loaded via JavaScript, it doesn’t find them.
- Social links only in footer of a sub-path: Some company sites link social only from the blog or careers section, not from the home page.
- Presences on unsupported networks: Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, or Facebook are not recognised as channels. Picasi currently focuses on LinkedIn, YouTube, RSS, and newsletters.
- Website behind cookie or age gate: The scanner sees the consent page, not the content.
Adding channels manually
Open the source in the overview and click Add channel. Enter the full URL of the channel (e.g. https://www.linkedin.com/company/example-inc/). Picasi validates the URL and adds the matching channel.
Details: Add channel.
If this doesn’t help
- If you’re sure the website links to LinkedIn or YouTube and Picasi still can’t find it: report the source URL to support (chat widget bottom right). We’ll check whether it’s a detection bug.
- If a presence exists on a network we don’t support (Instagram, X, Facebook): report it to support as a feature request — the prioritization of new channel types follows demand.
