Create API token
What this is about
You create an API token that you use in Claude Code, Cursor, or your own AI agent to access Picasi data. Tokens are the most secure method for tool-to-tool connections without a browser login.
How to proceed
-
Open AI Connections
In the navigation, click Settings → AI Connections and Tokens.
-
Create a new token
Click Create New Token.
-
Assign a name and role
- Name: Describes the intended use, e.g.,
Claude Code – max.mustermann@example.com. A good name helps you identify and revoke tokens later. - Role: Determines what the tool is allowed to do with the token.
- Reader — read updates, reports, and sources only
- Member — additionally review the inbox and generate AI reports
- Admin — additionally create and edit sources and channels
- Name: Describes the intended use, e.g.,
-
Copy token
Click on Create token. The token is displayed only once.
Copy it immediately and store it securely — for example, in a password manager. After that, it will no longer be visible in Picasi.
Result
The token appears in the list of active tokens with its name and role. You can now use it in your MCP client.
Revoke Token
If a token is no longer needed or has been compromised, click Revoke next to the corresponding token in the token list. It becomes invalid immediately—all tools using it will lose access.
