Can I track the same competitor across multiple workspaces?

Short Answer

Yes. The same source can be created independently in multiple workspaces. Sources are not shared across workspaces—each workspace has its own source directory.

Details

If you work as an agency or in a larger company with multiple workspaces, you’ll often encounter this question: Do we have to create the same competitor from scratch in every workspace?

The answer: Yes, but that’s not a bug—it’s by design.

Each workspace has its own sources, its own channels, its own tags, and its own AI contexts. This allows you to monitor the same source in different workspaces with different focuses. For example:

  • Workspace “Client A” monitors Muster AG with a focus on LinkedIn
  • The “Client B” workspace monitors Muster AG with a focus on YouTube and newsletters

The refresh frequencies, tags, and reports are completely separate.

When does this make sense?

For agencies that serve multiple clients with overlapping competitors, this is the right structure. Each client gets their own, completely isolated view.

When does a single workspace make more sense?

If you’re monitoring the same competitor internally—that is, for your own company—across different departments, a single workspace with different tags and filters is usually sufficient.

Copying sources between workspaces:

Picasi supports copying sources between workspaces. This saves time if you want to set up an existing source with the same channels in a new workspace. You can find this feature in the sources view under Options → Copy to Other Workspace.
