Why does my dossier not evaluate the whole period?
Short answer
A dossier evaluates at most 183 days. If you choose a longer period, Picasi takes the last 183 days of it and announces that in the create dialog.
Details
The notice reads:
The period spans n days. The last 183 days are evaluated, more does not fit into one analysis.
The limit has a reason of substance. A dossier is two pages long and should answer one question. Averaged over a whole year, exactly what a dossier is meant to show disappears: what has changed.
The default is 30 days. That is the period most templates are built for.
What you can do instead
- Create several dossiers, one per quarter, and lay them side by side.
- Take the change dossier. It sets the chosen period against the one before — the comparison then sits inside the document instead of in your filing.
- Use the Matrix for longer series. It is built for developments over time.
